Kate is an experienced design professional who brings innovative interdisciplinary strategies to her process of creating K-12 educational spaces that are generous, thoughtful, and rich. After enduring five winters in Chicago, she moved to Portland in 2017. Kate received a Master of Architecture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a B.A. in Art History and Medieval Studies from the University of British Columbia. As an artist and art historian turned space-maker, she draws from her broad visual arts background and curatorial experience including installations at the Chicago Architecture Biennial, Mies van der Rohe’s McCormick House, and the Museum of Vancouver. Her project ‘Tools of a Revolution’, is part of the Art Institute of Chicago’s permanent architectural drawing collection.
