“We become what we behold; we shape schools, then our schools shape our world.”
– Inspired by Winston Churchill and Marshall McLuhan

Ross is a senior architect and learning environment planner with more than 30 years of experience, specializing in educational architecture for the past 20 years. He is highly experienced in all phases of projects, from visioning through to final completion; in a wide variety of project sizes, including new construction, renovation, historic preservation and reuse; and in alternative delivery models. A seasoned advocate for preK-12 education, he has seen three of his projects recognized by the A4LE (formerly CEFPI) James D. MacConnell Awards committee for excellence in educational planning and design.

He is passionate about using design to connect students to their learning and natural environments and is a strong proponent of inclusive and culturally relevant community engagement and design. Ross is a founding lead of our practice’s and A4LE’s justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives and his volunteer efforts include school districts’ capital bond and levy programs, local food banks and community non-profits, and speaking engagements at educational design conferences.
